Installing Your Tracker
Follow these simple steps to install your TrikTraks tracker in your vehicle. The entire process takes about 10 minutes.

Choose Location
Find a secure location under the dashboard with access to 12V power

Connect Power
Connect the red wire to 12V+ and black wire to ground

Secure Device
Mount the tracker using the included magnetic base or screws

Test Signal
Wait for the LED to turn solid green indicating GPS lock
Understanding LED Indicators
The tracker uses colored LED lights to communicate its status. Understanding these indicators will help you troubleshoot any issues quickly.
Solid Green: GPS locked and tracking normally
Blinking Green: Searching for GPS satellites
Solid Blue: Connected to cellular network
Blinking Blue: Connecting to cellular network
Red: Error condition - check power and connections
Activating Your Device
Once installed, you need to activate your tracker through the TrikTraks portal. This connects your device to your account and enables tracking.
Log into your TrikTraks account at portal.triktraks.com
Click 'Add New Device' in the fleet management section
Enter the device serial number (found on the device label)
Assign the tracker to a vehicle and driver
Wait 2-3 minutes for activation to complete
Common Troubleshooting
If you're experiencing issues with your tracker, try these common solutions before contacting support.
No GPS signal: Ensure clear view of sky, avoid parking in garages
Device offline: Check power connections and cellular signal strength
Inaccurate location: Allow 5-10 minutes for GPS to stabilize after startup
Battery drain: Verify proper 12V connection, avoid using USB power
